2. Hand feel testing method

Good silk has a soft and pearl like color on its surface, without blackening or astringency. The silk has a bright and even color that diffuses light without reflecting fluorescence; The texture is soft, delicate, and smooth, with long and elastic threads. Mulberry silk has a whiter color, longer fibers, a softer, more delicate, smoother texture, and better elasticity than tussah silk.

3. Combustion inspection method

Pull out a few strands of silk at will and burn them with a lighter: the ignition point of the silk is very low, it will not continue to burn, and it will quickly extinguish after burning. The smoke emitted during combustion is white, accompanied by the smell of burnt protein from burning hair (the smell of burnt animal protein from hair or feathers). The burned ashes are gently rubbed into black powder by hand; Chemical fiber materials will burn for a long time, emitting black smoke and a pungent odor when burned, and the ash will be black and stick to the hands, forming hard balls. There is a clear difference between the two.
